Before the advailability of freshwater pearls, pearls were extremley rare. Today pearls are more obtainable but not any less beautiful! Organic gemstones that are formed when a foreign object, such as a grain of sand, becomes embedded in the soft tissue of an oyster or clam, the process of the pearl creation is quite remarkable. The oyster or clam secretes a substance called nacre to coat the foreign object, & over time, this nacre builds up to form a pearl. Pearls can be found in many natural colors & shapes. These beautiful fresh water baroque stick pearls are unique in every way with a spectacular silky lustre.

Being mined in the Kingman district of Arizona is where this lovely kingman turquoise receives its name. Known for its deep blue color & its bright green matrix, Kingman turquoise is considered to be one of the finest types of turquoise in the world! With a long & rich history, it is easy to understand how the repuation for this turquoise came to be. First mined by the Native Americans of the Southwest, & later by the Spanish & Mexican settlers, all of whom saw the beauty of this stone. In the early 20th century, Kingman turquoise became popular with American jewelers, & it has since been used in some of the most famous pieces of jewelry in the world!

Used for centuries by Native Americans of the Pacific Coast, abalone is a type of sea snail that is found in warm waters around the world. The shell of the abalone is made up of many layers of nacre which give an amazing iridescent shine. The pieces selected for these ear wraps have a particular sea green tone that mirrors the beauty of the Kingman turquoise.

Also known as the stone of truth, amazonite is a type of green gemstone that is found in severak countires including Brazil, Canada, Russia & Peru, which is where this particular variety is from. The name comes from the fact that it was thought to have orignally come from the Amazon river. Kown for its bright green color & its chatoyancy, which is a type of optical effect that causes the stone to have a cat's eye effect, amazonite is a perfect compliment to turquoise.

Gemstones are all natural & conciously sourced. The turquoise, as is the case with 80-90% of market turquoise, has been stabilized to aid in the longevity of the stones. This does not in any way effect the color or integreity of the stones!
